Hi Crooked,
I have a few of those, though my Cuckoo Marans are clean leggedies. It would be great if you could put your location, even nearest town or region in the province in you profile then we know how far you are to ship and whether pick up of chicks maybe an option! You might get more replies if people know you are close to them.
I have Silver Grey Dorking from Mcmurrays that are aparantly very good (from someone who really knows, very little bricking and the feather mottling and colour pattern good along with good tugboat shape and decent size). I have a roo I like too, and am getting an unrelated roolet as a trade with with someone that inherited a 60 year old line of big old birds (can't remember the name offhand) and wants new blood.
I have wheaten and black pennies, from Eric Rivard. Wheaten throwing crele, and wheaten chicks better than the parents so far. Wheatens laying 5 on marans scale, don't know what the young wheaten and black pennies lay yet. No idea what the black will throw as they look pure for now, (nice clavells, some much buigger than others, keeping the bigest roos) some of the Quebec birds have hidden qualities genetically! Where were yours from and what do you have as maybe we could trade.
Cuckoos from Performance and McMurray, think they are just about to start laying. Friendliest I've had yet, esopecially the PP. I have had from McM and Robyln Eyrie (ideal?) before, these girls have grown fast as have the roos, and are a prettier bird with clean legs.
I have partridge chanties, quite dark, nice cushion combs on the pullets from PPoultry. Sold my ones from Roblyn Eyrie farm (probably from Ideal) as they grew slower and were not as nicely marked. So far I have shinier darker eggs from the PP too. The Roblyn Eyrie roo wee are keeping as he is kind to the hens and though wyandotty looking with round frame throws pretty partridge girls, and can breed my hens and he doesn't pull a feather. Our young spare roo is wyandotty looking and from PP and beatifully coloured but has wyandotte comb. I have tons of pics you are welcome to see!
