Loud rehearsal + Microphone compatibility

Recenty I bought a pair of Hearphones. I absolutely love them at home, but for band practice they don't add that much volume. (My band is loud, I can't increase the levels on my mic because of feedback issues.)

Would the VAM be more successful in this regard?
And can they be attached to the EV767 or Sennheiser 835?

Re: Loud rehearsal + Microphone compatibility

I love my VAM! It really gives you great cut through loud backgrounds and enhances the frequencies you need to hear yourself. I especially love that you are hearing your true voice without any muddiness from monitors that often occurs. The louder you sing the better the VAM sounds!
An outstanding product in my opinion. Two thumbs up. :cool:

Re: Loud rehearsal + Microphone compatibility

Dolphin, I am not sure about the fit on a Sennheiser. If you know anyone with a SM58 you can compare the thread diameter.. should be less than 2" around   1.88" will do it...the VAM slides down the threaded shaft then you re- apply the windscreen... worse case scenario you can slide it up the handle and file the diameter of the VAM until it fits just below the windscreen snug. The VAM is useful even without a Mic for use as a practice tool. When I am by the computer or stereo listening to music and learning to sing them, I simply hold the VAM like a phone so I can hear myself crystal clear even when the music is at live volume so I can sing and practice with live feel.
Snaz...thanks for the comment on the VAM...I have listened to your voice and it is amazing... The VAM was developed by me to use for professional use; it is not a toy for beginners; but it can be since its so cheap. I think the product in the hands of a begineer encourages more singing and self training..at least thats what I am hearing...
Dolphin, let me know how it goes!

Re: Loud rehearsal + Microphone compatibility

Ditto, Snax.... Good post ~ I think you should submit a testimonial to Byron as I've done....

Here's my assessment : I use the VAM live, in the studio, and even practicing while at home or in my vehicle.

On a personal note, I have had several anterior cervical spinal surgeries, and as a result, I have a significant amount of scar tissue. Unfortunately, there are times when I cannot stay on pitch, an the VAM is the answer for me.

I also have repetitive ear infections, particularly during the winter months or due to seasonal allergies. Again, the VAM to the rescue ! (Note: For those who suffer from the same type of problems, see my post "Ear Problems and The Eustachian Tube ~ It can be located here on the forum in "Vocal Health", under "Article and Essays in the Community section, or on my personal page. Just trying to help out....)

No more straining my voice or trying to hear myself.

I'd like to add that I previously had two VAMS which I loaned to friends, and it's such an awesome "tool", they weren't returned to me. I believe that says it all. I had to replace them !!!

As for fitting on other mics, I own the original, and it will not fit on my EV- 767a or my Rode M-1, but WILL fit my Audio Technica.
                                                    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`
Byron,
Hope all is well, my friend !!!
