Wireless Mic System : SAMSON AirLine 77

TMV Forum Athletes:

I am intrigued by this system...  Does anyone have experience with this system or familiar with any competitive solutions as such-ski that would allow a singer to interchange the transmitter for any dynamic mic, effectively turning a dynamic mic into a wireless mic?  This would be killer... Would this system work with any dynamic mic, or only the Samson mics?

Re: Wireless Mic System : SAMSON AirLine 77

Hey Rob,

yeah the "plug on" radio transmitters will work with any dynamic mic regardless of the brand. i know AKG used to make a plug on radio transmitter system but i just had a quick look and i couldn't find it. anyhow i believe there are quite a few other companies that do these systems one being Sennheiser
http://www.sennheiser.com/sennheiser/ho … ransmitter
which is a great company especially in the wireless system department. as far as ive heard though most of the plug on systems are not as good as the dedicated wireless hand held systems that are in the same price/quality bracket but just how big a difference i wouldnt know (and maybe what i heard wasnt true anyway-if you mailed a company like Sennheiser they would tell you). with most wireless systems there is usually some difference in quality between a wired mic but of course the more you pay/higher grade system as well as the technology getting better the difference is less and less. i guess a lot of average folk wouldnt be able to tell the difference/big difference between a wired and a mid level grade wireless.

im assuming its so you can use the Rode M1 wireless as that seems to be your weapon of choice these days?

No actually so I can use ALL my weapons of choice... I want the ability to interchange on the fly, its not to accomodate one mic, its to have this ability for all my mics so I can enjoy all my mics... without snagging the cable around my studio.

cool.   i think most of the major mic companies make them. another good company for wireless stuff (i have heard you get a lot for your money compared to some other companies) is audio technica.

most wireless stuff you see for professional use is either Shure, Sennheiser or Audio technica.
