would like to start this topic with...... Didnt even know you had this site powerslave, simply AWSOME, ive read quite a few tutorials as im in the middle of modding my console, only thing i need to do is add LED's a large hard drive and install XBMC, which is my question, the way i want to do it is use a crossover cable, thought this would be the easiest way, would these products be fine

The crossover cable is just for NIC to NIC; XB1 to PC direct connection. The console has to already be modded to transfer files between the PC and the XB1.
Both devices need the same Gateway, and Subnet mask. Then separate IP addresses. You would use a FTP program to sent files to the XB1. I use a router, so everything is set automatically.

what it is wanting to install xbmc onto the system, looked at possobility's on how to and would like to do this using the crossover cable as seems as it is the easiest way

The console has to be MODDED before you can do anything. Look in the NETWORKING sticky here for all the setup stuff.
