Announcement

All who have no contracts, and are sick of DirecTV, please terminate your service immediately. They screwed up my bill THREE months in a row, won't let me out of the contract, and are billing me $420.00 for early termination. My bother is canceling his service, I need more! Tell them that you are "canceling because of Account# 36116205." IF you are canceling just to cancel, tell them that anyway!

Re: Where to buy chips

If your box is 1.0 to 1.5, you can flash the on-board chip.  Install a softmod after enabling the TSOP for writing (solder wires or jumpers on the mainboard).  Then you can flash it. Write enabling the TSOP is less involved then soldering in a modchip, especially on V1.2 to V1.5 boards, which is only TWO jumpers.

Still, a softmod works just fine, and you can use XboxHDM to make another drive, lock it, and put it in and format F and G partitions.  There are so many options open.
